At Jamboree Heights Swimming Club our Learn to Swim (LTS) programme has a strong following, with many of our current Squad swimmers having moved through the programme.  Classes are run at the same time as Junior Squad giving children the opportunity to see how they can progress after completing the LTS levels - Jellyfish through to Squid.

All Squid swimmers, and those in LTS who are recommended by their coaches, are encouraged to attend our Club Meets.  These are held on either Saturday mornings, commencing at 8 am or Friday evenings at 6 pm (see the Calendar for dates).  During these Club Meets the LTS swimmers can take part in 15m practice races.  This is a fun morning (evening) of racing where the swimmers get to practice the skills they have learned in their classes.  If the children progress to swimming the 25m races they will be required (for insurance purposes) to become a member of the Jamboree Heights Swimming Club.

Key Information

• Children must be at least 5 years old for LTS Classes 
• Classes will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons for a half hr throughout Term 4 and Term 1.
• There are 6 LTS levels beginning with Jellyfish and progressing through Tadpole, Goldfish, Dolphin, Shark and finally Squid level.
• Certificates will be issued to each child. They receive a sticker to add to their certificate each time they progress to the next level. 
• Grading and sign on for the Spring Block (Term 4) is held at the Jamboree Heights pool on 28, 29 August 2009
• Grading and sign on for the Summer Block (Term 1) is held at the pool on Thursday 28 January 2010
• Each term will be an 8 week block. Fees are $70 for Squid level and $95 for all other LTS levels. 
• Enrolment and Medical Forms need to be completed and payment is required at sign on (cash or cheque made payable to Jamboree Heights Swimming Club Inc. 

Please Note:  LTS payment must be kept separate from the Swimming Club Squad fees. 

• Summer holiday intensive swimming blocks are offered over the Christmas holiday break and details will be provided towards the end of Term 4.  
• Winter blocks will also run at the beginning of Term 2 and the end of Term 3.  Please let your LTS coach know if you are interested in these blocks.
